10. Flying Lessons.

Not actually anything to with birds at all, this was a song inspired by Andrew Smith’s book ‘Moondust’ - featuring interviews with all the living men to have stood on the moon.  Performed by Sheffield’s finest - Nat Johnson. Murray and Gary hold it all together, as they did on the whole album.

One man goes up,
Another man comes down
First guy I mentioned -
Nowhere to be found

The first thing they teach you
When you take to the sky
You leave earth behind you
For some other guy
Some other guy

If we land in the water
Put your faith in me
Some die with dirt in their mouths
And some, the taste of the sea

When you walk to the runway
They take down your name
You come in for landing
It won’t be the same

The laws of physics
In this crazy old town
Is, one man goes up
Another man comes down
Another man comes down

If we land in the water
Put your faith in me
Some die with dirt in their mouths
And some, the taste of the sea
